There isn't really a functioning board at the moment. I'm still technically the President, though actively trying to pass on the reigns. I'd be happy to add your announce@mug.org address to our announce list. It has a similarly light level of traffic. I'm not sure about adding our announce list to yours, but I'm willing to give it a shot. We only have 10 subscribers to the announce list because all announcements are also posted to the main list. So, go ahead and add talug-announce@talug.org to your announce list. We'll see how it goes. If your lists are also set up this way, then I should add your main list to our announce list. This would make sure that everyone sees these low-volume announcements. Let me know what you think. Three of us now stand ready to put forth the effort needed to establish roles and responsibilities and to institute a process by which the LUG will be governed. However, three is not enough (especially with mandatory co-ops interfering with schedules) to fill those roles or to draft and approve a Constitution. Therefore, we have decided to call a special meeting to be the first of however many meetings are required in order to get some sort of functioning organization in place. The special meeting will take place on the first weekend in January (6th-7th). We would appreciate hearing back directly from you (subscribe to talug-board@talug.org and send an email) if you are considering participating. Please indicate whether you would prefer to meet on Saturday, January 6th, after a regular LUG meeting (i.e. in the evening) or on Sunday, January 7th during the day. The final date and time will be announced prior to the December holidays. The location will most likely be Stautzenberger College, our usual meeting place. Here's where you can subscribe to the talug-board mailing list: http://www.uniqsys.com/mailman/listinfo/talug-board/ Then just send an email to talug-board@talug.org announcing your interest and your preferred date & time for the special meeting. We are hoping to hear from several additional members who care about the success of the LUG and are willing to commit just a couple hours each month to making it happen. With just five or six committed members, I believe that TALUG will be in a strong position to reach out to more people, to provide an increasingly valuable service to the community, and to grow and adapt to a rapidly evolving reality. Please join us at the special meeting that will begin the process of shaping the future of TALUG. It is no small order to make a good thing even better and we need your input and your energy, whatever you can spare. Participation is not a requirement for membership but it is important that all interested parties are involved. Thank you all for your efforts thus far. We look forward to building up TALUG together.
