able to install 3 & 4 together, no problem. There is a 'kdeprefix' USE flag
which is supposed to make it possible to even have different minor versions
coexist, each in their own directory. If I understood it right this is not
supposed to be necessary for kde3&4, it's for things like kde4.1&kde4.2 for
example. I don't really want that, one kde3 (or even just k3b +
dependencies) and one kde4 is fine for me. I do not have this flag set.
I actually already uninstalled kdelibs3.5 and k3b this time before I wrote
the original message. It was after that I thought that maybe someone on the
list would know a better way. As things have been going this only buys me a
week or two before it happens again though so there is still value for me in
asking. Actually, my updates are still compiling right now. You've gotta
love screen and nice when using a source based distro!
Thanks for any help / ideas!
